Streams

Learn how to safely test and simulate policy changes against live production traffic using SRVANT Streams.

Why a Streams?

Data processing rules (like PII Scrubber and Field Mutations) are extremely powerful, but deploying them directly to production can be risky. A single typo in a regex pattern or a mistaken field drop could result in critical data loss or broken downstream dashboards.

To solve this, SRVANT includes a native Streams feature built directly into the Control Plane. It allows you to intercept live production events, test your proposed processing policies against them in a safe UI, and view a granular diff of the modifications before ever saving the policy.

How it Works

1. Capture Live Traffic

First, you create a Stream by targeting a specific pipeline. The Control Plane signals the agent to intercept a sample of live events hitting that pipeline before any policies are applied to them. These raw events are securely stored.

2. Simulate Policy Configurations

With your raw data captured, you can test your policies against the stream data. The Control Plane runs the exact same processing engine that powers the edge agent, executing the mutations and redactions over your captured payload.

3. Visualize the Diff

Streams generates a comprehensive JSON diff, visually highlighting exactly which fields were dropped, renamed, or redacted. This gives you 100% confidence that your Mutation rules or PII scrubbers are working exactly as intended without inadvertently corrupting valid fields.
